We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Road Surfacing Operative to join our growing team. You will be involved in a variety of road constructions and maintenance projects, helping to deliver high-quality surfacing work safely and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for general labouring duties in line with the works to be carried out and completed
• Use power tools in line with job requirements and competency levels
• Ensure all equipment and tools are safe to use, defect reports are completed before use and reported if they are not in an acceptable condition
• Ensure the required paperwork is completed and submitted to the office i.e. near miss reports, daily defect check lists
• Ensure the site is kept tidy at all times to ensure the positive company image is reflected
• When required, interact with clients and supervise the activities of others to meet set deadlines
• Ensure water butts are full and any materials or tools that are required for the day’s work can be transported safely and are loaded on the van before leaving the yard
• Ensure the crew vehicle is kept tidy at all times and if any welfare / first aid items are required they are replenished by yourself or by informing the Foreman
• Ensure you understand all information communicated to you during the Site Induction and Daily Briefing. Any concerns should be raised prior to works commencing to ensure safety measure in place
• Ensure the understanding and application of responsibilities with regard to DJT Surfacing Ltd.’s Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards
• Ensure all aspects of DJT Surfacing’s Health and Safety policy and activity is implemented consistently

Requirements:

• Previous experience in road surfacing or construction (preferred but not essential)
• CSCS Card
• Full driving licence (preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.
