Where We Began

Jamie Thornton’s journey in civil engineering began at just 17, starting as a storeman in a small company. Under the guidance of his mentor Dave, he worked his way through the ranks over the years, eventually becoming Contracts Manager. He moved on to larger firms, gaining experience running major operations, but something was missing: the personal approach and care he valued.

In May 2012, Jamie and Dave decided to start something different. Working from a portacabin, they founded DJT Surfacing with a clear vision: deliver exceptional quality with a personal touch that bigger companies simply can’t match.

What began with two men determined to do things properly has grown into a close-knit team that takes real pride in their craft. Jamie knows every worker and their story.
